Flourishes are a nostalgic grunge pop band from the UK. Pushing the punk ethos into post-rock and shoegaze, they combine big riffs with ethereal vocals to create a dreamy, jagged and emotionally dynamic sound that is melody driven.
The quartet were formed in London by producer-guitarist Jon Dix and vocalist-composer Beck Goldsmith. After a track record of writing for screen, including Netflix, HBO as well as off-beat and award-winning cinema (Blue is the Warmest Colour, Brightburn, The Pass), the duo craved a live stramash of cinematically-leaning guitar-rock. Flourishes were born; spiky, sardonic and joyous.
After releasing their self-titled debut album on BMG’s label The Den, their tracks soon found placements across major TV networks; bagging slots on maverick TV shows (Shameless, Creepshow, Kevin Can F**k Himself) and as the theme tune to crime thriller series Black.
The forthcoming album is more mature and multi-faceted, with gutsy guitar riffs set alongside drawling tremolo, female vocals that are layered and reflective, and swirling effects that leave a haunting afterimage. A grunge-spun mirrorball with retro throwbacks, the album gives flashes of Smashing Pumpkins and Stevie Nicks.
Flourishes are set to tour in early 2025, with the Dazzler single ready for release, and full album soon to follow.

Hooky 90s riffs ala Pavement/Weezer? Check! Lush vocals ala Wolf Alice? Check! A slacker vibe like Courtney Barnett? Check! Welcome to the world of Flourishes. Hailing from London in the UK, this quartet have a distinctly American vibe as they lethargically fuzz their way through many a melody and copious amounts of nods of alternative rock bands of yesteryear…a champion slice of easy melodies, simple but catchy riffs, and a sense of comfort that is enveloping.
